It just a few of the people that think this way. Not everyone in LA is like this. Both of those uncle move to Texas and never had any problems there at all though like they did here.

Half of the problem is that the more "progressive" racists many times truly believe that they aren't being racist. Like the "I have lots of Black friends" and "I let them use my bathroom" comments. They love Black people playing sports or doing anything else... except banging their daughters. If I had a daughter the guys' ability to take care of her and treat her well is much higher on my list than what he looks like or where he's from. This is the kind of guy who would much rather tolerate a guy who beats his daughter's ass every night so long as he's White rather than a Black man who treats her like a princess.

Im white , wife is Korean and our son is mixed . No problems here or weird looks. We do live on the west coast though..

interracial marriage, 100% support, marry who u love, who cares about the color of their skin or the language they speak, i've dealt with racism my whole life, given less than .005% of the population in my town is asian
i have close to almost 50 'mixed' friends, that have survived and had to deal with racism just as much as an unmixed kid would, they turned out fine
so point of this story: if ur somehow different, ur somehow gonna come across discrimination, marry who u love, and dont let someone tell u otherwise

unless this judge's parrish/county/city has a regulation against mixed marriage (unlikely in this day and age, but some clause from a hundred years ago may still be on the books), the call is not his to make.

Believe it or not, it only just recently changed in Louisiana, it used to be illegal for Black and White to marry there an in many parts of the Deep South.

The issue has come up that he isn't the one issuing the marriage licenses. They can go to the courthouse and get a license and they are legally married. He just objects to it so he's refusing to perform a JP ceremony. I'm not sure if he's breaking the law because I'm not sure he's legally required to do it.

This type of backwood mentality is still very prevalent in that area. My brother in law (who lives there and is White) and I went into a joint to shoot pool a few years ago and the guy wouldn't rent us a table. There were 7 tables open. They were all "reserved".

well, i would believe it's a civil rights issue at this point and he will probably be removed from the bench...that's ends up being a good thing. you cant mask racism with feigned compassion for a yet to be conceived/born mixed child and think you can get away with it in the era of 24/7 new and internet.
