Bored w/ my '09 G37S already, need something for winter...

In the 6-7 months I've owned my G37S I've basicly done every mod I wanted to with the exception of the rest of the GT Spec braces and Forced Induction. I was really planning on going Forced Induction. I have the money put together at least 2-3 times but other things kept coming up that were more important so it kept getting pushed back.

Basically, I'm bored with the G and need/want something else for winter and fun.

Now, as many of you know from my other threads/posts, the wife is pregnant. She's due April 5th. When I bought the G, I knew it wasn't a very practical car but figured that we wouldn't have a baby for a couple of years so at that time I'd trade it in for something else. Well, plans changed. Winter is right around the corner and I don't want to drive my G.

I know I could easily adjust the KWv3's to the highest setting and but some winter tires on my OEM 19's and just be careful, but I don't want to risk damaging anything (like my CF wrapped Stillen Splitter or MXP exhaust).

I bounced around looking for something in the $5-10,000 range. I was originally looking for a 1995-1997 2 Door GMC Yukon GT, but they were all in very rough condition with way too many miles and priced too high.

I decided to move up to $15,000 range. I really wanted a 2003 Infiniti QX4 or a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder LE Platinum Edition but could't find either one the way I want with low miles for a good price and I also figured they'd be expensive for maintenence or repairs.

So, I decided to look for something domestic. I wanted something full sized that would also tow my boat. I turned my searches to Tahoes or Yukons as I had a 2000 Tahoe LT and a 2007 Yukon Denali in the past. I started looking for a 2003-2006 Tahoe Z71 as I always thought they were cool. Unless they had a 100,000 miles, they were in the around $25,000. Killed that thought.

I remenbered my buddy in high school had a early nineties Jeep Wrangler Renegade that I really liked. I figured that a Jeep over 15 years old would be cheap and fun. I did a little research and learned that they were made from '91-'94. It was a fairly low production option package that was hard to find , again in good condition with low miles, automatic, for a decent price.

My search for a wrangler evolved into looking for a RUBICON, the most capable off road version of the wrangler. Again, after some research I learned of the 2003 Wrangler Rubicon "Tomb Raider" Limited Edition after the second Tomb Raider film w/ Angelina Jolie, and I had to have it. They only built between 1000 and 1100. They were pretty scarce and overpriced for what was basicly an appearance package added to a standard Rubicon.

I started looking for a used '03-'06 Wrangler Rubicon but they hold their value even better than I expected and were even higher then the $15,000 cap I gave myself. They were more like $20,000. For $20,000 I thought I could get a new one, rather than a used one. I stopped by my local Jeep dealership and a new 2 Door (non-Rubicon) '09 could be had on a deal of a little over $20,000 (plus taxes and fees).

Then I saw the 4 Door. That was it for me. I liked them since they came out in late 2006 as 2007 models. And, on my honeymoon in Hawaii, the wife and I rented a soft top 4 door wrangler (non-Rubicon) and really enjoyed it. I think I'm gonna go for it. I don't need anything more than a hard top with an automatic tranny but I have my heart set on a Rubicon. And, OMG, there is SO MUCH aftermarket support for this vehicle it may quicly become my favorite over the G.

So, within the next month or two, once the refinancing of our business loan is complete I'm going to get a winter vehicle. I'm planning on putting it in the business name as a work vehicle and writing off the payments.

Any thoughts or opinions are welcome, thanks!

And, yes I know, I'm nuts. This is how my mind goes, I swear.
You all remember when the mod bug bit me with the G right?

I could never be bored of my G. Other than the GTR, there's really not another car I'd rather be driving.

my sister has the 4 door rubicon, it is pretty nice, seems built well for its intended purpose... the interior isn't much to look at obviously but as a winter car it would be great.

I was driving around in like 10 inches of snow and the thing felt fine, it was so hard to get it to act up in the snow, but once it went it really went quick, but I can't see that happening unless you are REALLY trying to slide around

You are bored with the G in the matter of just few months.... don't you think you're gonna be bored with a Jeep in less than an hour?

But don't get me wrong about the Jeep. I've also always wanted a Wrangler. I just went with a S2000 instead tho' (but it's sold now). hahaha

I knew you had it, but didn't know you had it like that! I mean getting bored of the
G after all the mods you put into it is definitely something The jeep would definitely make for a good winter vehicle. Don't forget to post pix once you start modding it

I am still not bored with this car, although I do miss boost coming from a 350zTT but that will be fixed in a few months time also. Then again I have only gotten to drive my car 1 time since February. Looking forward to seeing it again for a few days this month lol.
