Noise in Reverse

A couple times recently when backing up in R I hear a slight metal scraping noise but it is hard to duplicate. Sometimes I don't hear a thing, anyone experience something similar?

Normal... most, if not all, coupes will eventually get this.

Does the noise appear with or without brakes applied? I had a similar issue without the brakes being applied. My tech had to adjust a backing plate. Never heard it since.

mine has metal scraping noise when i drive up on my drive way, and i think it came from front, i also have squeak noise when it is in Reverse, but i think that is my brake.

No brakes on when it happens. I'll ask about the backing plate I thought it was a loose heat shield.

what is backing plate?

For the scraping noise going up the driveway I'm 99% sure you are scrapping the bottom of your car... Just take a look under the front of your car and look for scrapes or scratches. This happens to my dads mbz sl 550 since it's low and our driveway is on an incline. Is inevitable. Doesn't happen to me since I have the g sedan so it's not as low.

Not sure about the sound when in reverse. Sorry.

Use the search button. This is normal for big brake kits. However, I have not had the noise since replacing my rotors to Rotora Slotted.

THX, The squeak noise is come from my brake, cuz it only happens when i am applying brake when the car is in reverse.

I would check out the bottom of your car tho. Its underneath, so its not visible unless you look, but don't let the scratches and stuff get too bad. But again, since the car is low, and your driveway is presumably on an incline, its inevitable...

i am gonna bring the car to dealership on this Friday to do an oil change service, i will ask them to check. THX

look at your exhaust tips to see if they are scrapping on the driveway as you back out.... are you lowered?
