What was your very first car

As the title states, tell about your very first car that you owned (those who can remember that far back). Did you buy it or your parnents? How much did it cost? Memories?

1979 Toyota Corona Sedan. "The Brown Hornet" had a little over 200K on the odometer when I got it for $400 of my very own hard earned money while in high school because "the automatic transmission was shot". I dropped the pan and changed the fluid, gasket, and filter for likely the first time in it's existence. It slipped a lot less. Drove it for 500 miles and did it again and it ran like a new car. Had it for about 3 years and one day while driving to work it inexplicably threw a cylinder completely through the head and exloded. R20 engine caught fire and burned to a crisp. I miss it sometimes.

Yes my dad bought if for me, but anyone who has something to say about that is simply jelous that their parents could not or did not want get them a car. Thats that.

1971 Ford Thunderbird 429ci PI "The Duke", Cherry bombs, airshocks, rainbow taped dash..lol. Bought for $900 in 1978 by myself.

I got it when I was 14. I had $150 and my Parents stepped up for the balance.

1984 Toyota Corolla Hatchback. Hand me down from my mom to my sister finally to me. Good car to learn stick shifting in. Traded it in for a truck and now I see they are very popular for drifting. Interesting how the tides change.

'93 pontiac sunbird LE with a 3.1 V6...got it in 1999 during my senior yr in high school thanks to my parents..think they bought it for $3k...traded it in for my '99 maxima in '01...sunbird had 93k miles at that time and had an overheating problem..dealer gave me $1900 for it
