1967 Hemi GTX. I bought it two years old for $1,700. from a NASCAR fan, printed the engine and added some fun stuff, cross ram, roller cam, 12.5:1's etc. Ran a four gear with cut syncros most of the time. It was my daily driver with low 11's high 10's in near street trim. Thank goodness for 35 cent premium. Tickets were the high dollar item. :-(
Then a buddy says, check out this new sport car, a 1970 240Z Datsun... it was my first new car followed by a few more Z's over the years. Nearly 40 years later, I'm still here. Lovin' it! :-)

A 1982 ford escort that had been totally 3 times by insurance. I could not go over 55mph or the bent back axle would vibrate the car apart. It was black oxidized on black vinyl seats. I had to put a towel on the seat in summer to prevent 3rd degree burns when wearing shorts.

I did have fun beating the hell out of that car though. I would put the e-brake on and pop the clutch and burn out the tires. Then get replacements at junk yards.

it was a '69 mustang coupe and i was 18 years old. it has a 302-v8 with automatic transmission. i bought it for $1000 becuase it was wrecked in the rear. it took a year of working on it on the weekends (and saving the cash needed) before it was drivable. my dad was a bodyman so he did the major repairs and i was the helper.

i drove it for most of my 7 year college career. yes, it took me 7 years to finish since i was working and paying my own way. it was a lot of fun but also a lot of work and time looking for parts, etc...

about 18 months after i graduated and was working i replaced it with a new '96 mustang gt convertible.

20 years later i still have the '69 mustang but am considering selling it in the fall.
pictures are before and after

1st: 69 mustang - still have
2nd: 95 mustang gt convertible - totaled
3rd: 95 mustang gt convertible - totaled
4th : 96 mustang gt convertible - still have but soon to be sold
5th: 09 g37s

How have I missed this thread? My first ride was a 2003 Ford F-150 Supercrew. Black with the tan stripe around the bottom. Had flowmasters with dual tips out the back, custom grille, euro style headlights, westin step bars, custom 2 tone Kat SKINZ leather seats, 30% tinted windows, ARE hard bed cover. Then for the Audio had Pioneer Premier Headunit with MP3 and iPod, Kicker Tweeters, and 2 10" Kicker CVR subs mounted in custom box under rear seats, powered by Kicker ZX400.1 amp. Dynomatting on the rear and underside of the cab. For only 2 10's that thing would pound. Was probably one of the loudest cars at school.

Still miss it sometimes. Will try to find some picks to put up.

'56 chevy V8 2BBL. Quickly switched the carb to a 4 bbl and put in a wild cam and lifters. Subsequently busted the rear springs flooring it from a stop. Used to race another guy to school in the morning - we routinely hit 80mph on a old twisty two lane road down by a river bottom. Kids.
Also (later) had a '69 Boss 302 Mustang. Wish I'd kept that!
