2009 Nissan GT-R official photo's leaked
Well as most of you probably have heard, Motortrend leaked the first photo's of the GT-R on their December issue. Now pictures are popping up everywhere, much like the G37. Here's a link to a site with a bunch of them, I love the 3/4 view but the front bothers me a bit, the headlights look even more stretched back than the G37's. Performance is insane though...
Important points: 0-60 3.5s 1/4 mile 11.7s Top speed: 192mph Price is supposed to be under $80,000 No manual, 6-speed dual-clutch automatic Bridgestone Potenza RE-070 run-flats (this makes the trunk look much more usable than the G37's) Link: http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dl...arams=Itemnr=1 EDIT: Oops noticed this was a repost in the Future vehicles section, please disregard. not sure how much I like the front end... but the car is still gorgeous... I'd love to be able to afford it.

Anybody know the estimated hp? With those numbers, it's gotta be in excess of 500...

I actually prefer the concept better with its black spot under the headlight. Not sure I'm liking the horizontal indentation in its place.

Then those acceleration numbers are ONLY acheivable due to AWD. This car is going to weigh at LEAST 3400 pounds, if not more. I could easily see if topping out at 3700-3800. Were it RWD only, you'd be looking at low 4's to 60 and mid 12's in the quarter, likely. In other words, it's gonna own in street racing, but not be as ultimately fast on the highway as a Z06, say. Not to criticize, just to bring reality to those who see 3.5 seconds and think OMG, it's as fast as an Enzo!

What's all this talk about straight line speed, Japanese car design is almost always based around handling capability, not around making a drag strip King that's definitely a domestic thing. The GT-R will be a track car, not a drag car, stock at least. Supposedly the GT-R is running unofficial times on par with or better than the current production car track record on the Nurburgring, a record currently held by the Porsche Carrera GT (currently ~10 seconds faster then the latest Z06, I'm not counting the Radical SR8 because that can't honestly be classified as a daily driving production road car).

I have seen a couple curb weights listed on other sites...one was just under 3800 and one just OVER 3800!!! Underrated hp figures or overrated stats, that's all there is to it. 3800 lbs and 473 hp CANNOT get you an 11.7 quarter mile, even with AWD. Perhaps it is hp at the wheels and is thus underrated. Otherwise, look for dissapointing figures in tests, to say the least. And since when is a "track car" 3800 pounds? I'm not saying it won't be fast, in a straight line or on a track...I'm saying it's not what these preliminary numbers imply.
