To me Corvette has always said "Look at me" in a way that says I need to get attention from my car because I don't get much otherwise.

The G37 with its lower price tag, refinement, quality, and utility says " Look at me I have other stuff going on in my life"

Fresh out of school I'd opt for the car that offers a bit more humility.........

Like others the vette is a different beast.

It really depends on what things you like in a car, both have their flaws and both have their benefits.

like many have said the vette is totally different type of car the 08 however is very improved over the vettes from the past though. they've taken into effect that the interior was lacking and add a leather upgrade and the engine is amazing. however insurance is still going to be killer my uncle (50) with a near perfect driving record was quoted @ 400 a month for full coverage on a 07. he ended up with a m3 the insurance for that was 215.

I thought i was the only person comparing these two cars. i am a senior in college also, graduating in may 2008. I visited numerous corvette dealers, even went as far as kerbeck's. Then (as suggested by girlfriend) went to check out the new g37, after that i never bothered with the vette again becuase of all the technological features of the g37 (dont know if thats the right description) but im sure you all know what i mean, only thing i regret is the vette has more power but thats easily made up by the bluetooth, ipod integration, blah blah blah you get the picture

It's been interesting reading all the comments on the comparison because I really like the G37. But after test driving the new C6, it's just a whole different feeling (like driving on a race track, eventhough I never drove on one) compared to that elegant smooth feeling driving the G37.

cause you just tested a totally different purpose built car.

I wonder how long til we get:

Viper or g37
911 or g37

Come on people the 335i or g37 is at least bearable cause they are actually rivals but its starting to get a little over board now.

If you want raw power and some fun, the C6 is for you. You can get it used in Carmax.com as I've considered it too.

If you want luxury and some speed and some handling, the G37S is for you. Just take note that the front area has a c*ckblocker as stated by someone else!

I vote apples and oranges

but if I was given a choice between the two with no financial repercussions - as weird as it sounds---i would pick the G37. Regardless of power - i believe the G provides a more sophisticated and refined image than the C6. There was just something about corvettes that I have never really liked---no matter how great of a performer it is. Maybe because there are so many of them on my streets.

I have been away in a foreign country for the past few months. I saw a G37 for the first time in real life the other night...my jaw dropped. A corvette never really did that to me.

I say G37, more refined. C6 are probably great cars, I just don't get the whole "vette" thing, never could

handling...real performance out of a 8cyl...its got jsut as much technology....comes with targa top, convertible or hard top...i believe the vette is sexier then the G37....im not biased toward a G just cuz i own one...it is what it is...

I think you can rank your priorities first in terms of what you're looking for, it might make things a little easier.

For example, you might want these things in this order of importance:
Handling -> Power -> Exterior -> Interior. Maybe cost+insurance could be placed somewhere in there too.

After figuring out what matters to you the most, you can decide which car wins in each category.

But that's just me.....Good luck.
