I was actually just looking at the Berk HFC. Looks like you have them.... What's your stance on them?

theyre only the single coolest mod i ever did.. haha it amplifies the sound of the exhaust, i love it. It kind of sounds more raw now, like a 350z or g35 would have.

As far as power gains go, paired with the cold air intakes i may have lost a little down low, but it seems to be better up top.

Lost a little torque? Too open? Not enough pressure? Hmm I was looking at their website, $550 is a pretty hefty pricetag. I like how the stock exhaust sounds. I wouldn't mind it being a little louder, but I am always concerned about getting that raspy/poping sound.

Yeah you will hear some new noises, popping, gurgling, etc. but i think it sounds good. The vendors here can fetch a better price than 550, i paid over $100 less than that new.

the problem i had with it though was removing the stock cats. One of the bolts is right there by the steering column, and the shop had problems getting to it. ended up costing me just about 400 for installation.

DrJones: Thanks! Looking forward to extensive Play Time with it.

Mikey: I will check out some of the vendors here to see what they're offering. I would 100% go with the HFC vs Test Pipes. I'm pretty sure the TPs sound worse, and then your car just stinks (literally). Complete opposite effect that the car has in its stock format (eye catching, luxury, and pure sexy.)

I would venture out to do the instally myself. I'm by no means a mechanic, but some years back, I pulled off stock exhaust manifolds on a 05 Stratus R/T, and threw on some long-tube Headers. Took close to 8 hours, especially since I had to cut the O2 sensor wires, and solder in about 18" of new wire as the downstream sensors were relocated further downstream.

The Berk HFC's Metal Substrate, sure look sexy in the pictures....mmmm.

Congrats and Welcome!!

Welcome to the G37 community!! I'm in massachusucks too!! This is my second G..had the 04 G35C 6MT...traded in for the 08 G37S 6MT...and all I can say is WOW!! what an IMPROVEMENT!! You will definately want to consider some Blizzak LM-25V's if you are going to drive it in the winter at all. Makes a HUGE difference in traction and they are still low profile and fairly sporty when there isnt any snow on the ground. I put the winter tires on my stock wheels then bought some sweet aftermarket wheels/tires for the summer months...
nice to see more G37 owners in Mass!!

Technically, I'm not in MA yet. I'm currently in San Antonio, TX. I'm moving next week to MA as I'm separating from the US Military. Time to be a civilian again. Looks like I'll be living in the Worcester area although I haven't found a place yet. I will be working in Boxborough, but it doesn't look like there's much near there!

There's plenty near Boxboro..just not IN Boxboro...depends on what you are looking for when it comes to an initial living situation...I'm in Ayer about 8 mins from Boxboro which is decent for a small town...Acton is a really nice town next to Boxboro which is where I grew up and went to high school class of '84...but it's a bit more expensive and more family oriented with a really good school system...if you're looking for city life Boston is only 30 mins from the Boxboro area taking route 2 and Boxboro is right on 495 which gives you quick access to anywhere...I miss living in Boxboro!!
Let me know if you need more input on surrounding areas!!

G35Cfrenzy: Thanks for the info!! I'm not really familiar with the area! For right now I'm looking at spending no more than 1250/month in rent. But I only need a 1br apartment for now. Since the G37 is my daily driver (for now) I think I want a short commute to Boxboro. I could definitely use some help as to which areas are nice vs where to stay away from. I know the 1250 might be tough to work with but it's as high as I want to go since I still have a house/mortgage here in tx until I sell or get a renter (not sure which option I want to go with yet).

Congrats on your ride.

I also made lots of miles at the first day.

I just couldn't stop driving.

I didn't think it was all that many miles... haha. However, I am sad to report...... Last evening, I was pricing a set of Blizzaks since I'm moving to MA in a week. ($800 for the set on stock 19" wheels without additional TPMS) I decided to go outside and take a look at the stock tires. It was very dark outside so I took a SureFire flashlight with me. As I'm shining the light on the tires, I just happen to move the light in way that the light is reflected back and practically blinds me. The culprit; 1.5" of CURB RASH on the lip of the rim. I KNOW for a FACT that I have NOT hit a curb in the 5 days I have owned this car. I think the dealership may have done it when they put on the lock lugs. Looks like I'll be heading to the dealership on Monday to see what they say. Things are not looking good in my favor as I have no way to prove that they did it, and I have no way to prove that I didn't do it! Hopefully they'll take my word (doubtful).
