G37 vs. S4

Got my new G37s coupe of weeks ago, all paid for. love it. but this weekend, stoped by boardwalk audi, saw new 2010 s4, man, love that car, i know it is about 20k more and 4wd. but HP pretty same, little bit more torgue. i don't know, was thinking about trade G to s4, but will cost me for just two weeks drive. tough decision.

If you didn't own the G yet then sure why not. But now, That would be a poor choice if you ask me. If you are on the fence because of power and torque figure that the S4 has. buy a TT or the new SC set up that GTM will be releasing soon. Both will put out more power than the S4 and still cost you less in the end.

very true. i love driving the coupe, but s4 with 4 drs will be easy access for kids. not i didn't thought about that when i purchased my G. i might just stay with my G, save the 20k for the kids college

Audis have the look and performance going for them, but like most German cars they are a maintenance headache. My wife leases a 2008 A4 and that thing is a pile of turd. Fortunately it's still under warranty. Never again will I go German.

That seems like a better investment actually. You post pix of your ride too when you get a chance.

I recently bought a beater car from Boardwalk Audi, it was a used 2005 Acura TSX. Love it. My experience with Boardwalk Audi was not pleasurable, but that is besides the point.

When I dropped my TSX off with them for some negotiated maintenance, they loaned me a 2006 S4. I barely drove it to my work downtown and back. it only took me that long to decide that that car was a piece of crap. I actually wanted my 04 Ford Explorer back over that piece. First, I could not even turn the key in the ignition because the key was stripped and would not turn the car on. For 5 min I was sitting there trying to get it to turn. Then while driving, it felt like I was driving a chevy cavelier. The understeer was aweful and the cars suspension was worse. Not to mention, I was afraid to turn on the radio since there were so many buttons that I could not figure them out. I felt like I just stepped into a BTTF DeLorean, too many buttons and 80's styling.

Previous Audi model did suffer from understeer due to the engine position in the chassis. The interior was somewhat on the blend side as well but on Audi behalf tough, I will say that the understeer issue you speak off was negated by the redesign they did on the new body style for 09. The interior design of the 09 and up are also a nice improvement from past models. I actually drove the 09 A4 and the ride and handling is nice. Drove the A5 which felt good as well (lots of grip) but both the A4 and A5 left me wanting for more power. The G simply made more power and had great interior/exterior combo that I could not pass up on.

Ouch, I'm 37 and still modding. You can never be too old to improve a car. Go to any classic car show and you'll see more AARP members than all of Florida.

You're never too old to mod Hook up the G with the IronMan mod and you'll forget all about Audi. Here's mine

Okay, back on topic. If I were in your shoes and had the money I'd definitely go for the G and then TT.
