My Stillen Gen3/R2c dyno comparisons

Well, the final numbers are in folks, and i promised a no-BS assessment.

The Stillen Gen 3 came out on top... by far. I will scan the comparison dyno sheet in a bit. Final numbers, in 4th gear for both intakes:

Stillen Gen3: 294whp/238tq
R2c: 272whp/226tq

And there you have it! If you're looking for pure performance, and can don't mind the installation/maintenance, Stillen Gen 3 is King.

That's such a huge difference. Honestly, I was very surprised!

Wonder if I can somehow rig up the R2c filters as replacements for the K&Ns on the Stillen. Best of both worlds! lol

Does not sound right. Both done at the same time, temps, conditions the same?

No baseline... never got a chance. This is just to compare both intakes.

Kidcane... the Stillens were done on Sept. 14. Then I installed the R2cs on the 17th to put some miles on them, and to allow the ECU to adapt. Temperature on both days was pretty much the same... between 71-74%, and humidity is just as equal, so that's not a factor at all. Same shop. Same dyno, both done in 4th gear.

I'm disappointed too, and surprised. Actually driving around with the R2cs feels more "fun".

When I put the Gen 3s back on, I'll see if the R2c filters fit... That would be awesome... then something to attach the splash shield to. lol

I cant believe an intake gets 22hp added let alone 22 hp different unless the R2C made you loose power from stock. I am shocked!

Yeah, I'm surprised too, but "The dyno don't lie" - guy at the shop.

I believe it, sometimes when we get together (other G37's) some of the guys have different mods. They can't believe how hard I pull away from them. I love my Stillens, thats one of the reasons I bought them, I did my homework and looked at other intakes and their claim of HP gains, Stillen had the best number.

and the install isn't as horrible as some may think! (don't need to take off the bumper)

After taking out the Stillen's last week, removing the bumper really isn't that bad. It's still a pain though. lol

Bumper is easy as hell to remove. Takes me 15 minutes.

Yup! But still annoying. lol

So I've been talking back and forth with Ed from R2c for a bit. It's weird that my numbers are so different.

I had my Maxima dyno'd by them awhile back when they were developing a system for the 6th Gens, and I know for a fact they don't mess around/cheat in any way. They don't even have their own dyno. They take cars to local businesses that they aren't even affiliated with, other than that. They tested two different Gs with both systems... several runs each. That's how they got these results:

I really have no reason whatsoever to believe they are playing tricks. I know the guys personally after dealing with them during the Maxima intake development.
