My description of the Tanabe sound is "stock exhaust on steroids". It has a similar tone to it but louder and with aiw deep growl to it. It sounds more exotic to me. If you like the stock sound but want more of it, I think you'll love this one. Give us you thoughts when you get it on. Installation is easy, it should take you under a half hour doing it in the driveway by yourself - only 4 bolts.

IMHO, you cant beat Tanabe for looks and quality. I wouldn't trade mine. It is actually pretty loud and agressive when you add HFCs. More than any other exhaust mod I have done, the HFCs changed the sound most.

$776.95 shipped...I looked around a bit and that was the best price I could find. Did I miss something better?

That's what I've been reading and I feel a lot better knowing I should be able to put it on as soon as it arrives. I've had my G for around 8 months and 8k miles so I hope the stock muffler isn't rusted to the old one (it's been through the winter).

Not exactly. I like Tanabe, but if there's a demand for it, then maybe. I'm not gonna actively seek out buyers.
BUT, I AM selling my heat wrapped JWTs though, interested?

Got mine for $590 shipped back in December. Got lucky and caught a good deal.

A couple of tips. Use jack stands or ramps on the back of the vehicle if you have them. More room to work and easier to get the mufflers t off/on. Also, spray the 4 nuts that you will be taking off with PB Blaster and let them sit a while. Do this before you jack up the car, gather tools, open and inspect your mufflers and they will have had time to soak and come off really easy. Piece of cake.

Not to treadjack, but if i were to buy just the rear mufflers to weld onto the stock MIDPIPE, what size would i need? 2" / 2.25" / or 2.5"??

No welding necessary. It's 4 bolts total to complete the install. Very easy.
