What is the most repulsive food you have tried?

For me, it is a close tie between natto (fermented soy beans) and durian, (the fruit.)

The first time I tried natto was at a sushi bar on Oahu. I am open to trying new things, but my taste buds were not ready for the foul taste that followed.

I can only imagine, but it must be similar to putting a dead mouse in your mouth.

The second time I gave it a shot was in a pre-packaged form on a breakfast buffet at the Hilton. It was milder, but still not for me.

I know that Southeast Asia considers Durian the "King of Fruits," but I found the odor and taste quite revolting. They can have it.

that fruit is disgusting.
natto isnt too bad though; better in japan than in hawaii.

Anyone ever tried Balut???? So friggen neasty lookin I couldn't even touch it... Hehehe... Have lots of friends who love it though...

^^^nasty...i have no clue how people can eat that thing. never tried it and don't think i will anytime soon.

The first time I tried durian it was given to me by a Thai lady at work.

Durian? did they let you eat the husk of something? cus its actually sweet, but yeah the odor it emits is quite up there.

I travel to Manila in the Philippines once to twice a year and always eat Balut... I actually enjoy it. Only had one time where I didn't. I guess I got a hold of a bad one.

Going back to Manila in October and plan to eat again and try and break my record of 3 in one setting. Mmmmmm. Coworker of mine had 5 once.
