Stealership win! A must read for any infiniti owner

ok so i stopped into massapequa infiniti for a tpms sensor for my new wheels, and while i was there i happen to stop into the service department to have them check out my steering wheel for the paint chipping. now i happen to preemptively call corporate about the problem and to let them know that thanks to the power of these forums i found that other members were getting their steering wheels replaced for the same problem. well at first they tried to tell me that they would repair it with touch up paint but i wasnt taking that for an answer to i told them that i had called corporate and they can check the records. the minute they sat down and looked i think it took 30 seconds for the service manager to call parts and say " order this guy a steering wheel asap"

he then proceeded to come out with about half the service department and parts department and check out my car. very impressed with the tint work and paint work, the wheels and suspension we got into a brief conversation about the transmission and the problems i was having. i went on to tell him about how i was coming in for a tranny fluid flush and that i was hoping it would help with the jerk i had been feeling. OOOOKKKKK HERE IS THE GOOD PART!!!! within a 5 minute conversation he had went onto tell me how they were having problems with tons of transmissions and it wasnt just my year but the 7AT's as well. so after that i was told bring it in for the steering wheel on monday and that i would have a loaner car a free tranny flush and that i would have my valvebody replaced if deemed necessary and reflashed with a new ecu version that was released.

now im sure that it helped i called corporate prior and let them know that i was very upset with what was going on and that i expected a brand new tranny if there was a serious issue that couldnt be fixed. i also let them know that i was all over the forums and this could be very damaging to there sales....

this is undisclosed and off the record but i have knowledge that this too was in the notes from corporate when looked up on the local dealership records.

this proves knowledge is power and very effective.... thank you to all the forums and unlimited knowledge on here.

Awesome. I had my steering wheel replaced because there were a couple air bubbles behind the leather and where it popped, the leather was letting go and peeling.
Just make sure your car tracks straight after; after my new steering wheel was installed, the wheel was not straight when the car was going straight (got it resolved after 4 trips).

I'm curious about you guys who have gotten the steering wheel replaced for scratches: Didn't the new one just get scratched up exactly like the old on in a few months or is it somehow different?

Does anyone have a link to the TSB that describes the transmission jerk and which cars may be eligible for the "B" reflash?

Thanks.

Mine has been holding up a few months without any scratches or peeling.

Wow i dealt with the same issue today with my tranny jerking issue at infiniti of Manhattan - Ryan claim's that the jerking and the irregular rev's could be from my intakes/hks exhaust, Went to pick it up he tells me yeah we had to re-flash the ecu/ecm (he really said ecm?) but your lucky you didn't have to pay for the diagnostics fee & the tech mentioned it could be a valve body problem.
