Time Change w/ Nav
Did everybody have to turn the daylight savings option off in their vehicle? I thought it was a bit odd that it can't automatically know the time like any computer seeing that it knows the exact location of the vehicle.

Location has noting to do with the date but you would think it could easily be added especially if you have the live traffic.

It's probably not an automatic function because not everywhere in North America observes DST.

I hear you on that, I just think there would be a check box like on your computer that applies it al time and knows when it changes. It just seemed a bit odd that you have to go into the options and deselect it after the time change.

True but at least they made just a click instead of having to actually reset the time.

Remember too that the government just changed the dates that DST goes into affect a couple of years ago, AND they may decide to change it again after they study the affects of the change. If they change it again and it had been hard coded people would be complaining about that.

Good point. I have an older atomic clock at home that changes to and from DST automatically. The Problem is it changes on the old dates. This means that I have to manually change the time zone settings four times each year to make the clock read correctly. It’s a minor annoyance for sure, but putting that in automobiles may be a real problem for those who are technically challenged.

It amazes me what people complain about. For your NAV or any system to automatically adjust for DST, it would need:
