Yet another Sedan vs. Coupe - @ TRACK -

I understand that the G37 Sedan is slightly faster on the 1/4 mile (due to weight) but what about on a large track with turns.

How would the track times compare to each other? (Sport sedan vs Sport coupe)

Is it true that the G37 Sedan Sport shares identical suspension equipment as the G37 Sport Coupe?

Does one handle better than the other? If so, why?

I apologize if it has been asked before.

It's a driver's race. But does it really matter? The G37 is fun to drive regardless of the times it posts on the track.

Same car with either 2 doors or 4. Performance is too close to discuss.

search around. i haven't seen too many local guys w/ 1st gen coupes catch me on the 1/4 mile with my '06 6mt sedan... i ran 14.002 while guys with coupes are running 14.2-14.3...

it's also with experience, track conditions...

they should all be close but bottom line... it comes down to the driver

Video Game Racing: Well when playing Gran Turismo Prolgue, I get better times in the GT350(sedan), than on the GT370 (coupe) on most tracks...

At a road course, we can't say, because we need more people to track their cars.

The coupe's two advantages are a more aggressive suspension, and lower center of gravity.

It's major disadvantage is its weight.

In my experience, the Sedan is easier to drive hard; I could get the rear to push out on the coupe at command.

The mags pretty much all have the sedan being faster than the coupe. Personally, I have no idea.....

People bother because the coupe looks better. People bother because some people like two doors.

I personally love the sedan because I know it's built off a coupe platform. I love that Nissan offers a sedan version of this car without taking any of the sport appeal away. It wasn't until 2009 that they truly made the sedan and coupe the same IMO. They now share brakes and steering ratio.

Because people like me don't like practical, hahaha!! Ohhh and the coupe looks about 10000+ times better than a sedan, but I don't want to ruffle any sedan driver's feathers, it's just my humble opinion!!

The coupe does have a noticeably harsher ride.
