I think I'm getting a good deal...

Hello, this is my first post. I am wondering if you all think this is a good deal. It's always a bit harder to determine with a trade, but here it is...

2009 G37s Sedan with Premium and Navigation (MSRP $41375)
My trade is a 2001 Corvette with 58,000 miles (paid for)
Out the door for $25,000 and 4.69% for 72 Months ($399 a month)

Seems like a good deal...

So out the door including tax/title/fee's PLUS your trade in for the vette = 25000? How much are you getting your vette for?

399 @ 72 months, you'll be investing roughly 3,728, give or take a 100 or two more due to the APR. That's not bad. Especially for a fully loaded G Sedan. You plan on consider waiting for the 2010's or do you not care for the upcoming changes happening. You could basically buy the 2009's for DEALER's Cost. I got two price quotes for dealer's cost. Maybe if I tried for my 3rd dealership, I'm sure I can match those quotes.

After the first day of negotiating they offered me $15K for the Vette and $1375 off of MSRP and 3.99% for 72 Months. This resulted in $27536 out the door. I said I would think about it.

I waited 3 days and sent an email that I wanted same APR and $25K out the door. After many emails they said ok for $25k but couldn't do the 3.99 APR.

I haven't yet seen the updated purchase order so I don't know how much they are giving me for the Vette.

And yes, this is after all taxes and fees.

Good deal?

So $25k + $15k = $40k out the door. Sounds like too much to me. You should be asking for $1375 off INVOICE, not MSRP. I don't see why you couldn't at least get it for $38k, at the most.

I agree, way too much. You should be getting it below invoice by at least 2k, not under MSRP. I got it for 400 over invoice back in august, so it should be less by now.

Okay, I just got the revised sales order. They took $3767.75 off MSRP for an adjusted price of $37,607 which is below invoice. They are still giving me $15K for the Vette and after taxes tag and fees it's $25K even.

I think you may want to sell the vette on your own and negotiate the G from invoice - $2500. Having trade-in just makes it more complicated. Keep in mind that you are only paying sales tax on the difference (sale price - trade-in).

But if you want to avoid the hassle, then the price seems ok. Not great. But ok.

well here's what i got for what it's worth:

one week ago i drove out an Infiniti dealer with a G37x with Premium and Nav pkgs.

the MSRP was $41,380.

OTD w/TTL it was $22,150 plus my trade-in which was valued at $15,500. Before taxes and fees i was getting approximately $6,000 below MSRP.

i financed at 3.7% for 5 years which included all taxes and fees.

i plan to pay it off in 15-18 months.

they also threw in 40% off the Infiniti Elite 2 maintenance plan for 39mths/48K miles. i also got 2 free oil changes.

they also have free valet service to come pick up my car ( an hour away) and leave a loaner and then come back with my car.

It was the best deal in 250 miles.

Still sounds too high for me. This is year end for the 09, so they should be dealing more. Your deal is worse than what I got in February and I've been driving the car for nearly nine months.

I think the overall price delta here has mostly to do with the value they are actually placing on my car. I am probably getting the G for well below invoice and they are only giving me something like $12K or $13K for my car.

I guess it's going to come down to how bad do I want a new car? It doesn't seem like there are too many 09 G37 Sedans around here with Premium, Sport and Nav packages. And I believe the current incentives end this weekend. There is no way I would have enough time to sell my car within a week or so.

I'll keep you all updated as to what happens...

I just got a G37xS with Tech, Nav, Premium, Black Grill. MSRP $43680.00. I got it for
$36,851.00 + Tax, Title and 3.99% through Bank of America. If you finance of 30k + you can get 3.74%. I see dealers all over the place offing at least $6500 off of MSRP for G sedans.

I doubt the dealer isn't going to budge much more if they're buying your vette for 15. the most a dealer would pay for a 01 vette is like 13... unless it's a z06. either way the trade value makes the dealer's offer fair.

what they did is that they dropped the price by giving the manufacturer's inventive which means you don't quality for IFS.

for comparison i got every option on a journey S sedan (aerokit to 4WAS) for 37999+TTL earlier this year. killer deal because of what it took to get it and fortunately the MT S sedans are 2k cheaper than the journey in the same trim.

elite maintenance is the oil change service. Service 2 is just oil changes. the 40% is a function to what they offer it for. most people are convinced to buy pre-paid maintenance at retail. 40% is probably their profit margin. .

negotiate for something better... you can do without service 2 which i think is 2 oil changes a year or something. get some rims or something... ha ha

Yeah I doubt they will cone down much (if any) due to the trade value. I am supposed to receive a call around lunchtime today. I'll let you all know what happens.

As hadokenuh said, starting point is invoice - $2500 (current promo). Maybe add couple hundred to that. MSRP is of no significance and should be completely ignored. That is the true price you would find most dealers are willing to sell to you. With that, you can figure out what trade in you are really getting for your vette. Good luck!

I assume invoice - $2500 isn't an 'official' Infiniti promotion. If it is can you direct me to further information?

The best the dealer I am working with will do is $300 below invoice. I have been working with them since Friday and the only other thing they have agreed to do is to install the body colored splash guards and throw in the trunk cargo net.

I've searched around within a 100 miles or so and only found 1 other Sedan with Sport/Nav/Premium. I think this also has something to do with the dealer not reducing the price any further. They have MANY Journeys with premium, so I'm sure they would do better on one of those.
