Trunk lock problem
Hi all,
I searched & read through a couple pages & didn't find anything on this, hopefully I'm not just bad at searching. My trunk won't unlock by using the button on the trunk lid. The fob button for open works fine. I just had it into the dealership yesterday for the 12000 KM oil / filter / tire rotation etc. It worked fine - I put my brief case in the trunk at the dealer. This morning, not so much. So did I do something dumb without realising it? Is there a setting or button somplace I accidentally hit? Or do I need to take it in? Thanks! ~K |

I don't think so, make sure the key fob is close enough to the trunk so it can recognize it, that has happened to me before.

What I meant to say was make sure the key fob is close enough to the trunk if he was pressing the button on the trunk to open it not the button on the key fob. My bad...

I tried pressing the button with the fob in my hand without any luck - besides, I normally don't take my keys out of my pocket unless I have to & this normally works.
I've been surfing the manual - I thought it might be the valet switch, but I couldn't recall where that is. The thing is, if you hit that it's supposed to turn off all the ways to open the trunk. I can still open it by pressing the button on my fob. The fob itself seems to be okay - I can open the drivers door still with just the open request button (or whatever it's called) on the door. Still - I'll pop back outside when I take a break & try cycling the valet lock. It cuts power to the opening electronics according to the manual, maybe it needs a "reboot". Cheers! ~K |

So I popped out over lunch & everything's working fine now. I didn't cycle the valet switch, it just started working on it's own. So either I'm looney or there's a loose connection someplace, or I've got gremlins.
Anyway, it's working now I'll have to keep an eye on it. Cheers! ~K |
