Which Option Pak includes a Mirror Compass?

Hey guys and gals, which G37 options or models include the mirror
compass? I just got a X sport with Nav, Premium, and Tech' paks
and I find it strange it has no compass in the mirror. I'm wondering
if it got changed out at the dealer before I purchased it? Thoughts?

I think the mirror compass is not included if you get the NAV package.

Yeah, if you get the NAV package, you lose the compass.

Apology for slightly off topic, but since the mirror/compass experts are here...I have a G37x sedan with no nav/prem...Is it possible to have the mirror with the compass put in aftermarket?

Yeah, go here -Auto Dimming Mirrors- Those are all Gentex mirrors. They make almost all the autodimming/homelink/compass/temperature display mirrors for the auto industry. The ones in the Infiniti are Gentex so if you buy one of those you''l just be able to swap out the old mirror for the new one.

On the 08 you could get the compass mirror even with a Nav, I think they changed it in 09.

Correct. My 07 sedan with Nav also had the compass mirror while my 09 does not. While we're at it, the 07 also had ambient lighting on the drivers side which was deleted in either 08 or 09.

Thanks JE. So I bought a Gentex online after reviewing the install procedure...doesn't look too tough. Of course, first step is removing the OEM mirror, and I can't figure it out. Help please! I was able to pop off the bottom cover on the base of the mirror. I've tried turning the base of the mirror 90 degrees (using pliers) but that doesn't seem to loosen anything.

Nav cars do not have the compass.

However, if you have an early production 2nd gen car (07 sedan, VERY early 08 sedan/coupe), you may have a compass in the mirror on a nav car

Generally, these are the 08 nav cars with a 06/07 nav software version.
