First time at the track - 13.7@103

Just got back from the track a little while ago. Fun night! Managed to get two pretty good runs in because I just spun the tires on the last run getting a little carried away..lol

The best I ran in my bone stock G37s was 13.73@103.43, with a 2.09 60-ft.

I felt like I could get a little better launch by bringing the revs up a bit more, and ended up spinning the tires on that run. I also think my tires got some of the wet patch on them which may have helped just lite them up, but I'm not sure. I'm still on my stock Potenzas by the way.

I really felt like I could hit a 1.9 60-ft with a 'perfect' launch and get my E.T down a bit, but we'll see. I feel like there's a few tenths still lost in there that maybe I'll be able to free up next time. Still just my 1st time at the track with this car. But for now that's all.

13.7 is not bad at all for a bone stock G on stock tires

Nice vid......glad to see you get the jump on that Shelby. The vid didn't show it but did he eventually catch up to you and win the race?

Those are some pretty solid numbers for your first time. One guy on here was able to break 13 with just some 18" DR's.

Thanks guys. Pretty solid, but I feel like I can improve on my time a little bit with a little more practice/experience.

And no the Shelby never actually caught up to me. He finished like a car or 2 back. His time was a 13.2@117 though!! lol

^That and now that we know the 4.08 gears will fit then it would be a solid competitor.

Yeah, from the sound of the Shelby he wasn't going for any kind of record breaking time. But I didn't know the guy, just lined up next to him. I'm kinda suprised he still didn't catch me with that 117 trap though.

And what's the deal with these test pipes? Can anyone provide me a link to read up on some of the good ones? I've heard a few guys talking about them like they provide some pretty good gains.

And I'd love to change up the gearing in this car to make it a little more aggressive. From day one I thought the gearing was a little long.

Gearing alone took .4 off my old S2000 I use to have. Gotta be quick with the shifts though.

The stock cats are considered to be the most restrictive component on this car. Replacing them with test pipes or even high flow cats really helps open up the exhaust and provides possibly the best single gains from one mod and for a good price. Fast Intentions makes both test pipes and high flow cats. Test pipes are known to have rasp and make the exhaust smell though.

As far as the gearing several 370z guys have done it and i think the first person with a g37 on here just ordered some. So hopefully he will be able to let us know how well they work out here in a few weeks.

Kinda softly. Held it ~ 3500 and rode the clutch out a little. Kinda wish I brought it up just a little bit higher. Not real thrilled with my 60'. But it is what it is.........for now anyway.

Really?...wow. I think if you may have dumped it too much you would have just spun and killed it. But I definately think you got a good tenth (or maybe even two tenths) to knock off on a great day.

great run man!
