Dealer set tire pressure on 28 psi

Why would they do that?? I decided to check my press this weekend since it's been colder out and it's 28. I only had the dealer mess with my tp so far. Shouldn't it be 35 like the doorsills suggest, and why hasnt my TPMS light gone off
Oh, I got the stock sport 19's by the way

TPMS on our cars is a joke. I think it has to be at least 8 PSI low before it indicates. And it doesn't tell you which tire is low or how low it is. Useless.

What was your dealership doing adjusting your tire pressures?

Yeah, your dealer messed up. Alway keep them inflated to spec as the sticker notes.

If it were much more sensitive though people that live in colder areas of the US (northeast) would complain because every morning there lights would be on because the colder temps can inaccurately represent tire pressures (it evens happens to me in ATL sometimes). I've heard that a colder outside temperature can cause tire pressure drops by about 1 PSI for every 10 degrees F.

So for those of you in colder temp areas, yes you should always check and inflate your tires when "cold", but what that means is not immediately after driving because because driving generates friction and heat that increases the pressure inside the tires.

I know you know this BB, but just making it clear for some folks that may not.

Yeah, supposedly they "check it" during service, at least that's what the service order said. I thought it was kinda too low so I added air and now they're all at 35

It says 35psi for you guys? My door says 32psi. My TPMS came on when they all dropped to 29psi when it got cold in VA after I moved up there. Big temp difference between AL and VA.

depends on size .... stock 18" is 33psi and 19" is 35psi. When I bought my used G the dealer had them at 42-46 ...my guess is to prevent flat spots while sitting on the lot.

I have factory 19s (sport model) and did a little experimenting when I got my car. TPMS alerts @ less than 30 PSI. Living in the NY tri-state area I keep my tires at 39 PSI in order to provide extra protection from harsh potholes & roadway irregularities. Above 40 PSI the ride gets a bit harsh and below 34 PSI feels a little sloppy.
