For those that are so concerned with MPG there's the option of changing the rear end gear to get better mileage if that's important to you.

When the final drive is changed, does the ECU need to be reprogrammed as well due to the different gearing? Just curious.... |

I don't think there would be a reason for that (that I could think of at least)

Is it geared differently? What size are the wheels/tires?

The different rear end gear ratio explains why it turns more RPM at a given speed. I'm just surprised the vert has a different rear end gear.

I wonder if the verts are quicker or just compensating for the extra weight (probably the latter) and the big numerical difference between 1st and 2nd is the culprit of everybody's first->second shift issues.... and anyone who has not tried taking out the "helper" spring on the clutch pedal should give it a try, it is so much easier to get smooth starts and clean shifts now
**it feels very weird, and way stiffer at first but it has helped me tremendously in smoothness**

That's a new one, but I'm guessing they did that to the rear end to compensate for the added weight since the 0-60 numbers are what concern the majority of buyers out there. They don't want people not buying the vert because it felt slower.

So who's going to be the first to swap out a rear end gear from the vert into the coupe?
