Last night on a trip home to Houston from San Antonio I decided to take it easy and see how good the mileage can be. I set the cruise at 63 and stayed that way all the way home (228 miles). It is all interstate and about half of it is gentle rolling hills. 29.1 MPG. I was pretty impressed.

I drove 71-72 on a 180mile round trip site visit yesterday. The trip itself avg'd about 26mpg, but my overall average was at 18.0mpg and was raised to 23.5. Not too bad. Maybe I should stop lead footing and driving 80mph everywhere.

Just filled up tank number three at ~900mi on the odo. Survey says...20.2 mpg. Not too bad for almost all city with only a few miles of highway. That even includes a few good "oomphs".

So we have to drive at the speed limit (or just below it) to get great gas mileage?
