For those who asked, iPhone Bluetooth works great. I have had a handfull of occasions where it wouldn't automatically pair with the car, but if I go into the menu and unpair then re-pair it, it works great.

I have a 2 year contract. I've had good luck getting credit for a new phone even when I wasn't "eligible" because I have 2 AT&T cell phones, 2 businesses with 6 lines, and their Internet services too. I suppose that's enough leverage to make them nice to me in fear of losing so much business.

wow 200 new thats not bad at all.. but im a member to cingular at&t for a while now, so how much would it be i would get the 2-3year contract to get it for 200 is that possible or do u have to be a totally new member switching to at&t..

UPDATE* 20 bucks for the data plan more a month and its 200 automatically renews your contract.. im in there first thing the 11th

Not mentioned in today's you-can't-get-away-from-it iPhone 3G announcement: AT&T's service plan jumps $10 a month. What's this? Did Apple finally figure out what the rest of the retail world did: That when you give away the razor you can charge through the nose for the blades?
Let's look at the math.

Old iPhone: $399 (for 16GB of storage), plus $60 per month for 450 voice minutes and unlimited data. Two-year total (since you'll be signing a two-year deal for either handset): $1,839.

New iPhone: $299 (for 16GB of storage), plus $70 per month for a basic voice plan (presumably the same 450 minutes) and unlimited data. Two-year total: $1,979.

Also, iPhone 3G will have to be activated in stores instead of at home, like before, and the phone won't be available to purchase online at launch.

^^ If you currently have a contract, they can't change the price on you or that's breach of contract. The only time they could is if you change your plan or get into another contract.

Yeh but you can only get an iPhone with a new contract, therefore, we will be under the new contract with the 3G iPhone. Current iPhone users will still only pay $60 until their contract expires.

You must use the Gilette Fusion like I do! The price of those blades is worse than gas. It's a racket. Kind of like HP, Epson, et al selling you a printer for $60 and then charging $75 each time you need ink cartridges for the life of the product.

I only use Fusion now because Tiger does jk But honestly it's the best razor hands down, expensive, but worth it.

I wonder just how many people will actually do the math when it comes to the new price adjustments.. In any case, it was a smart move by Apple to price things differently. Now I just need to understand why the hell they won't be selling the iPhone 3G online at it's initial release. I'm sorry but if they think anyone except teens on Summer break are going to wait in lines to get a phone they are in for a surprise.

I for one am not walking near an Apple store for a good three weeks and I don't even want to bother ATT with a "do you have an iPhone in stock" call.. Apple will be missing out on several thousand sales they could have easily made if the phone could be ordered online. Maybe this has to do with the new "in-store" activation? Most likely this will be done from a secure machine rather than employee activation, something we could all go do once we got the phone.. I'm a little irritated but hopefully the craze won't last like it did when the first iPhone came out. I'm looking forward to the upgrade but not the hassles. It's just a phone.

guys i have a ?? about upgrading to a 3g.. i currently have a razor on contract.. and my whole family has att and they are on contract.. now once i get the 3g its going to renew my contract.. its just going to renew mine correct? not my whole families.. or is it?

I am doing the same thing. My lil' bro is upgrading his iPhone with the 3G one, therefore his contract will renew. I will be adding a line, to the family plan, and getting the phone...This doesn't affect the other 3 lines we currently have on there.

Let me know if they tell you anything different. I would like to know.
