I seem to be having some sort of new issue with my car. It doesn't spin up like it should, and braking is all of a sudden very touchy. It seems like something is dragging, and that is making the 7 speed AT do a lot more downshifting at lower speeds, which aggravates being able to brake smoothly. I already had the AT software upgrade, and everything seemed fine until a couple of days ago when this happened. Is there a history of stuck calipers or emergency brakes on the 09s or what? Could crud have built up on the rotors to where I need to clean them off by braking from a high speed? The brakes tend to squeal when I back up. I only have 10K on the car, so I would think it wouldn't be the brakes. I don't drive the car hard at all. Any thoughts/help would be appreciated.

I was trying to post this question earlier today but I had no luck.
I dropped off my car this morning for the 7,500 miles check-up and my dealer is also going to be rotating the tires. I have a G37S Sedan with a staggered set-up. According to the maintenance book they're not supposed to rotate the tires. But they told me they are going to do a side to side rotation.

Will this cause any issues???
This is the first RWD car I've own and driven since I first got my License in 1980.

And before someone suggest RTFM, I'm at work and I don't have it on me. :D
Also I picked up my car already about an hour ago.

Thanks.

My 2009 G37 Journey (7AT, 4 Dr, stock, 9,800 miles) did something weird and scarry last evening.

The trip between my offfice and home involves about 3/4 mile of local driving and then a highway stretch of 13 miles. The temperature was around 30F and the road surface was dry.

I started the car after work and allowed it to warm up for about a minute. When I stopped at the first traffic light (in D), I noticed excessive vibration as one would experience if the RPM was too low. Then I looked at the tach, the RPM was normal at about 650. I didn't worry much about it and drove it as usual. I didn't feel anything unusual until I was about halfway home (7 miles from start) on the highway at 70MPH. Traffic started lightening up and the speed limit is 75MPH. So I stepped on the gas slightly. To my surprise, the RPM would not go above 3,500 or so and the car started bogging really bad. I felt that the car was kind of rocking back and forth. Then I tried accelerating in DS or using the paddle shifters to down shift. The gears would change but the car was still jerking badly.

So I let off the gas and cruised at about 65MPH for half a mile or so. BTW, the car felt normal when cruising at this speed. Then I stepped on the accelerator to about halfway. I felt that the RPM initially wanted to go up but then it just couldn't overcome some resistance from the engine. If I kept the throttle position, the RPM would do this wild swing between 2500 and 3500 and shake really violently. I eventually stopped playing around with it and drove home at 60MPH.

Once I was home, I turn off the engine and let it sit for about 40 minutes. Then I took it back to the highway and none of the above could be reproduced and the car was completely back to normal. Weird, isn't it?

I'd appreciate any inputs as to what could have happened or whether any of you has had similar experiences.

I understand that the system is 0 Front/100 Rear unless slip is detected.

Does anyone know whether it is possible to make the menu system more efficient by eliminating all of the voice prompts? For example, when I hit the Phone button on my steering wheel, the Infiniti lady begins prompting me to make a selection of commands. Rather than listening to everything, I have to hit the Phone button again before saying, "Call Billy Bob". I want to just hit the Phone button once, rather than having to hit it again to interrupt her.

Sorry if this is already addressed in another thread, I couldn't find it anywhere else.

Hey guys,

I've got a new to me rattle. I had the rear deck rattle...and cured it. Had the headliner rattle above the steering wheel and took care of that. Just when I thought I was all safe...i have this...semi-metalic rattle happeining in the front passenger corner. It almost sounds like its comming from where the air bag would sit. Its NOT the glove box. I've held that while the car was in motion and it wasn't it.

Any ideas. I have no idea how to cure this.

I don't want to take it back to the dealer b/c they *just* fixed my car from the bone head mistake I made (search posts).

Plus, rattles and dealers don't mix.

Help? Can anyone confirm?

"We are working on an AP for the 2008 - 2009 G37 AT, but we still have development work that needs to be done on the G37 engine control unit before we release the automatic transmission applications. I do not have a release date at this time. Check back with us early next year for an update. In the mean time, keep an eye on our website for any new information. Let me know if you have any other questions."
