I've heard there are several alternate endings and people in some theaters saw a different ending than most people got. I've seen a clip touted as the "original ending" (apparently Spielberg had them shoot the one most people see) and it wasn't all that freaky, so maybe Spielberg's was better.

Would you still recommend seeing it in the theater, or would it be just as well to wait for the DVD or "On Demand?"

Well said, I can not believe the hype this movie is getting. Paranormal activity is a bump or thud occassionally and a short whisper of a voice up untill the last 10m of the movie when something substantial actually happens. To that point I was about to fall asleep and frankly even after that.

It really made no sense and the plot, a girl that's been haunted occassionally througout her life by a demon who's main torment is a thump...lol... ew scarry noises. Now being dragged out of bed's a step up but that's still poor for a demon. The old movie "The Entity", now that's a scarry demon, this demon was a pussy.

I'll give credit to the producers.. how do you make a few million, hire two average actors, buy a HD home movie camera, write a boring script and then invest most of your budget in marketing... walla.. Paranormal activity.

Anyone want to work with me on the sequel.. this time the demons going to get some...lol.

Hahaha, thats why I hate going to the theaters. Aside from the rediculus prices and IMO crappy picture quality compared to a bluray on my 65" LCD. It's even worse on the weekends with all the little middle and high schoolers who are annoying as fvck. I think I'll just wait and download the bluray for free weeks before it is offically released.

I just got some of what people think is the best blank media dvds. How much better is burning a bluray torrent and burning it and watching it on ps3 compared to burning a 10/10 rip with good blank media. Is it worth the extra money for bluray discs? I got 100 for 22 bucks of the taiyo yuden..

I guess I'm asking if burned blu-ray movies are still really good quality...

Oh, well if your burning then yeah DVD is fine. If your gonna burn a bluray might as well just buy an official copy. I just download extremely high quality .x264 1080p encodes and stream them to the PS3. I have several HDD's i store them on and the quality looks the same as bluray.

Blu-ray H.264 rips are night and day better then DVDRIPS to XVID on a HDTV, the down side is the size so I typically only rip my favorite movies from BR disks. Personally I don't burn them to disk and just keep the Blu-Ray .mkv's on disk where they're conveniently accessed and played with Win7 Ultimate x64 MCE and Media Browser.
I keep two systems each with 4TB of RAID0 storage that replicate between each other over a 1Gb network for fault tolerance, one in living room, one in bedroom. The plus is no BR disk expense, no hunting for disk and full movie metadata and easy browsing thanks to MCE and Media browser. I'd rather invest in HD storage then blank BR disks and benefit from the better access and interface.
