that's great that they didn't give you any issue, but I promise you the type of oil you use has no effect on that process whatsoever
the fact is I had used the dealers ester oil.
made a difference, image you used a quick lube like most people.
if you think it doesn't matter what oil goes into the motor??
you are mistaken, if you did them yourself you'd be in for an argument.
I had a blown engine once with a gm motor only had 8k on it.
it was a tuned port 350 (same motor as a vette, just not tuned the same)

3 months I argued with corporate for a new block.
the main argument was the dealer didn't perform the oil changes.
that turned out to have not a valid argument because I had all my reciepts.

I mean it's great you let them touch your car for every

Hahaha alright this is a stupid back and forth...I'm happy you didn't have any problems, if somehow i blew a motor infiniti would absolutely not deny warranty because i did my own oil changes but whatever, you think they would.

They can't deny warranty work because someone else changed the oil or did other routine work...otherwise shops outside the dealer wouldn't exist

not saying that you would be denied.
I wouldn't wanna have to deal with what I did with gm.
sorry if you don't agree, that's what makes this country great.
it is a very expensive situation if denied.
I'm glad you haven't dealt with riding the bus while making car payments & insurance.
I did an it 5ucked.

I think there is one thing we can all agree on. Unfortunately, Infiniti stealerships are what we eventually have to deal with (at least initially) if something goes wrong with the car and from experience (mine and others), most of them don't give a damn about anything as long as they make their money (from both the owners and the manufacturer).

So if something does go wrong with the car, we need to deal with the stupid people (sorry I may be offending some people) at the dealership. And to minimize the amount of headache IF something does go wrong, it may well worth (mentally) doing certain services at the stealership.

And that's pretty much why I take my car to them, not to see their sorry faces and stupid acts! Sorry!

If you guys think $65 for an oil change is a lot...
I don't want to tell you what the dealers charge for oil changes on my other cars.

paying for an oil change is a complete waste of money. seriously, why not just DIY? it is insanely easy and takes 10 MAYBE 20 minutes

On some of my cars, yes... its a 15 minute job... and I often do it myself.
On the others, its impossible to get anywhere near the drain plug without a lift....which unfortunately, I don't have in my garage...

Porsche - $300 @ the dealership / $200 @ an independant
Ferrari - $500 @ the dealership / $300 @ an independant

It's the one in Woodbridge (you know the name probably). At least it's better than the total scam, run by the guys at Willowdale Infiniti!

Second that! They dont care what oil you use as long as you do you oil changes when your suppost to. Infiniti only "recommends" ester oil its not manditory.

I just paid $98 for an oil change. The guy told me the car needed 10 quarts of oil. I use mobil 1 synthetic, so that was most of the cost. I used to change the oil myself, but it is $20 in labor for them to do it...my time isn't worth more than the $20 to do it myself.

If you paid for 10 quarts of oil you just threw away half that oil. The car won't even hold 10 quarts of oil...

I hope you told that guy to go fly a kite and never touch your car
