My last tires were done on stretched tires, and I may be going to SoW next weekend, again on stretched tires... =P

So 48 posts later we have collectively concluded that some like it and some don't. And it is some margin less safe than running in spec.

My friend's near-accident with stretched tires just reminded me of something....

If someone has a blow out on the freeway and hits me, then later the investigation attributes the blow out to be from stretched tires. I will sue the hell out of him for purposely stretching the tirewall, which is the weakest spot of the tire, to beyond manufacturer's recommendation. Thus, inducing unnecessary stress, and eventually leading to the accident and potentially put other motorists at risk.

That is why I want no stretch and no lowering on my next car. In fact, I want my next car to look like this:

Talk about ultimate safety.

I'm with Shane 100% on this, it's not any different than slamming your car to the ground, knowing the risks of it. You can have a slammed car, you'll be driving and one day hit a raised man hole, your rip your tranny off, suddenly stop and get rear ended by someone else.

IMO, perfect stance completes the over all look of the car, you can have a piece of shyt 88 Bimmer with some dope wheels, slight stretched tires, aggressive offset and it'll look mmmmazing.

Can't wait to get wheels on my..... i'll tell later

WTF. Seems like we another opinon thread, imagine that. Too bad I can't get those lunar modular tires that they took to the moon. They never need air and would look schweet with a drop on some 22's!
