blendmount/invisicord install and review

I ordered a bv1 hinge for my valentine1 and a bbe for my passport escort 8500 x50 on Thursday, 9/10/09. To my surprise I received a package from MGT Motorsports on Saturday, 9/12/09. The items were processed and shipped the day of the order and arrived in Maryland from California in less than three days. All I can say is that it is very difficult to find this kind of professional customer service in the automotive accessory industry. Thank you Frank.

The fit, finish, and level of engineering is beyond excellent and the forethought to include spare parts, tiny black zip ties and installation tools is more than can be expected. I couldn’t be any more pleased with the quality of the product.

I was familiar with the item and didn’t need the instructions for install, but an illustrated step by step leaflet (specific to the particular mounts ordered), was included in the shipment. They were complete and easy to follow and would be very helpful if needed. The installation itself took me 10 minutes on average for both my G37 and Explorer. A large part of this time was spent aligning the mirror while keeping the radar detector level and straight. The pics of the shipment and install are posted below.

The V1 is hardwired to the Homelink mirror with an invisicord (black lead to black ground, yellow lead to brown power source)

The shims supplied for smaller diameter mirror stalks was not needed.

Wow, that's a really nice and clean setup. Can you get just the mount without the invisi cord? I've already got a cord run but the suction cup deal is starting to get annoying.

Here in the states it's legal in most places. I think there's only like 3-4 states where they are not.

looks nice and everything but I prefer to not have any reason for my car to get broken into. I mount it high with suction cups and take it down every time I leave the car.

It's all in the guidelines

Quote:
You may post Group Buys on the Group Buys and For Sale forum provided

1) You've talked to a supplier and arranged a volume discount on an item
2) Are a registered owner and want to offer this discount to other owners.
3) You are funding the order, collecting the money, and delivering it to the vendor. Drop shipment is fine but you must handle payment directly,
4) You are taking delivery of one of the items yourself and your item is part of the buy,
5) Your profit from organizing the buy is no greater than the cost of one item,
6) The buy is one time only.

We consider multiple units of one item a single item if all of the items are intended for use on a car at the same time. For example, a set of 4 wheels would be considered 1 item; however, 4 exhausts would not.

Looks nice, but Mike's mount is less bulky/cleaner look. Dunno if he is still making them though.

mgt motorsports is mike's company (mike of mike's mount). he and his brother frank run the show there. the blendmount is much better engineered, much smaller and higher quality.

edit: if anyone wants my mike's mount, it is for sale...$25 shipped.
