and first in the US

only thing I regret is having the switch kind of in sight because it usually means it's a kill switch for something, usually system in trunk so it could give thieves an idea...

XXX and kkokko, nice setup.

Hi XXX, Did you install backup camera like kkokko or just GPS?

Based on what I see, if I just want backup camera for 09 I would need to get
VCI-NIS2 and License plate camera, and hook all of them up and should be set to go.

I really like this config and I am thinking about doing this myself, but since I don't know much about car, I am not sure if I can do the install myself.

How do we remove the factory navigation display screen?

Anyone here who has done backup camera install before and who is willing to perform at reasonable price in Atlanta?

Does anyone know how the image from the license plate camera would look?

For example, the original infiniti backup camera is located on the trunk lid. The image projected shows the rear bumper so that you can see objects in relation to your bumper.

With a rear license plate camera, you would not have that rear bumper reference point. Thus, depth perception can be affected. Would this be an issue at all?

If you look closely do you see any flickering?

As you said Tariq, the backup camera in the license plate does not show the rear bumper as reference point so it's hard to judge distance...

Thanks for your response Kkokko,

But isn't one of the biggest reasons to get the backup camera so that you can park your car (ie to judge distance) safely?

I know being able to see little animals, boxes, babies, or other objects is great. But the reason I would want a backup camera is to judge depth. I'd like to be able to back into any small parking spaces with ease and peace of mind that I won't hit something.

I got quoted for $1200 for the backup camera device (vci-nis2) which hooks up to the existing lcd color screen. Do you think that's a fair price?

no I didn't get the backup camera added, just the NAV. I had it installed at a custom audio shop for ~200.

well once in a great while I see some flickering for a short period. Nothing too bothersome though although I rarely even use my NAV lol

I didn't even see the blue PAC box, I handed the installer everything still packaged haha

I don't know how to adjust brightness, maybe from adjusting the main display?
