^^ you got some pretty good prices on the GPS and the boyo from what I've researched. I can't even find prices close to that on ebay! Nice finds man

BTW, is that UPAC for GPS audio through AUX only? So if I use the external speaker, I wouldn't need it?

Yea, I go tthe GPS from gps central, which was a steal brand new so i bought it right away. As for the Camera i found someone who had a store and they had to close down so he was selling the cameras cheap.

The UPAC is so i could integrate my ipod/gps audio which taps into the Radio XM.

But the gps audio is kinda useless, with the UPAC as i wouldnt be able to listen to anything else, so i opted to have the optional speaker. Although the Ipod functionality is nice, i don't know if it's worth $150 extra to you. If you listen to radio/cd then you won't need the UPAC. However if you plan to use your AUX to listen to songs while have the GPS shown, it won't work. If your in AUX mode the VCI Display doesn't function.

Well I use the CD/iPod function more often so it seems like my only options are:

1. Have GPS display with no ipod audio
2. Have no GPS visual but external speaker turn by turn commands and keep it on iPod function to still hear music.

Or am I missing something?

Let me get this straight.. so you have the Ipod integration that comes with the premium model right?

1)If you use the VCI-NIS video module, you will be able to have GPS display with ipod audio

2) If you use the built in AUX, then you will have GPS display while in AUX and if you plug in an ipod in the RCA Aux audio you will have that as well. With the external speaker you will have everything nicely set up. This way you won't have to buy the 350$ vci nis1.. although u will need to do the Vid bypass which will void some warranty.

The optional speaker is loud and good enough. I will upload some pics of the set up.

Hey kkokko, great post. This is exactly what I hope to do. Any chance that
you are from southern Ontario. I would love to use the same shop that
you used.

I just bought the car, 2009 premium package. Is their anyway of using the
stock location for the rear back up camera instead of using the license
plate?

no i'm in vancouver, i suggest contacting the company that sells the VCI NIS, and seeing if they have any resellers near your area. Those guys will be pros at installing.

I'm sure it's possible to get a rear backup camera and mount it onto the spoiler, what you might need to do is get a spoiler with a rear view camera cutout, (or find somoene that will cut one out for you custom to the size of the actual camera and then hook it up the way i did). Should be totally possible, but cost may go up, since it will require some customization.
